Reverend Doctor Peter Cha

Chair of the Board, Catalyst Leadership Center

Associate professor, Department of Pastoral Theology, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School

Dr. Cha is a graduate of the University of Chicago (BA in sociology), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MDiv and Th.M.), and Northwestern University (PhD). After serving more than 15 years in local church ministry as well as in college campus ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Dr. Cha joined Trinity’s faculty in its pastoral theology department. In addition to serving as the chair of the board of Catalyst Leadership Center, he is also a member of the Board of Trustees of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.

Reverend Paul Y. Kim

Board member, Catalyst Leadership Center

Senior Pastor, Opendoor Presbyterian Church (Herndon, VA)

A graduate of the University of Illinois (BS in electrical engineering) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MDiv and Th.M.), Rev. Kim has since dedicated himself to the furtherance of reconciliation and partnership between various generations of Korean Americans within the local church context. For the past 15 years, he has served as the senior pastor of Opendoor Presbyterian Church in the metro D.C. area, which is nationally known as being one of the few that has successfully implemented a healthy partnership between older immigrant and younger American-born congregants.

Reverend Doctor Soong-Chan Rah

Board Member, Catalyst Leadership Center

Milton B. Engebretson Associate Professor of Church Growth and Evangelism, North Park Theological Seminary (Chicago)

Dr. Rah is the founder and former senior pastor of Cambridge Community Fellowship Church (CCFC). CCFC is a multiethnic, urban ministry-focused church in Cambridge, MA, committed to living out the values of racial reconciliation and social justice in the urban context. He received his BA in political science and history from Columbia University; his MDiv., ThM from Harvard, and D. Min. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. In 2006, he joined North Park seminary’s faculty, teaching in the area of evangelism and cultural engagement.

Reverend Doctor Minho Song

Senior pastor, Youngnak Presbyterian Church of Toronto (Toronto, Canada)

Adjunct faculty, Asian Theological Seminary (Manila, Philippines)

After serving several years as a missionary in the Philippines (teaching missions and New Testament), Dr. Song has returned to his home church in Toronto as its senior pastor in 2005. Dr. Song is a graduate of the University of British Columbia (BA), Regent College (MDiv and Th.M.) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (PhD in Intercultural Studies), and he has a particular passion for mobilizing the Asian North American church for global missions.

Reverend Nancy Sugikawa

Board member, Catalyst Leadership Center

Associate pastor, Lighthouse Christian Church (Seattle, Washington)

A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (BS in mechanical engineering) and Fuller Theological Seminary (MDiv), Rev. Sugikawa served many years as an associate pastor in a number of Asian American congregations, focusing on the areas of evangelism, discipleship and small group ministry. Since 2005, she has been serving the Lighthouse Christian Church as its Pastor of Empowerment, providing leadership in the areas of leadership and ministry development.

Reverend Jonathan C. Wu

Board Member, Catalyst Leadership Center

Executive Pastor, Evergreen Baptist Church (Los Angeles, CA)

Rev. Wu serves as the Executive Pastor at Evergreen Baptist Church of Los Angeles in Rosemead, overseeing a wide range of ministries in this significant Asian American congregation. He graduated from Wheaton College with a BA in History/Biblical studies and from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with an MDiv. He currently is a D.Min. candidate at Fuller Theological Seminary. Rev. Wu worked with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship for eight years, pioneering the organization’s Asian American ethnic-specific campus ministry with Peter Cha and other Asian American staff.

Reverend Gregory J. Yee

Board member, Catalyst Leadership Center

Associate Superintendent, Pacific Southwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church (Sacramento, CA)

A graduate of the University of California, Davis (BA) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MDiv), Rev. Yee served many years of pastoral ministry in Asian American as well as in predominantly Caucasian settings. Since 2004, Rev. Yee has been serving as the associate superintendent of the Pacific Southwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church and as the director of Asian American ministry within the denomination. Also, under his leadership, the conference has developed a very innovative program called the Mosaic Journey of Racial Reconciliation that has deeply impacted an increasing number of leaders and pastors of the denomination.
